About Me

Picture
PictureI have the best couples!
My name is Trevor Maloch, and I love creating films for you and of you. Before Maloch Media I was a high school math teacher. Kids loved me... the subject not so much though. 10 years go I started a student news broadcast as an after school program, that then turned into a class where kids were soon producing and directing their very own short films and news broadcast. I definitely picked up a passion for filmmaking and the whole video editing process got my creative juices flowing. When I was younger, I've always been into video editing, putting together my brother and I's wrestling footage from college, but didn't think that it would lead into something like this.

6 years ago a friend offered my video services for a wedding and BAM! Just like that, I was hooked on the event filmmaking of wedding days. I became indulged in the story-telling of the wedding couples. All the excitement, nervousness, and love from their loving families and friends made filming such a rush. Then to have the honor to edit a film as unique as my couples, gave me great joy. I want to take them on a journey back in time to the most epic day and share it with all their family and friends, and maybe someday their kiddos. I want to make films that last the ages and that people don't fast-forward through. I love to think about how my couples might show their grandkids someday, and be excited to show them.

My Family and I

Born and raised in Corona, CA, I didn't come out to the mid-west until college where I attended McKendree University "Go BEARCATS! ROAR-meow." I moved to Champaign, IL in 2008 and started teaching and coaching. I was then lucky enough to trick a beautiful girl, Kim to fall for me and we were married in 2013 on her parents farm. By the way, we Pinterest'd the crap out of it, and it was EPIC! Sad story is, we didn't even hire a wedding videographer and now every time I edit a wedding, my wife gets a little teary eyed and hits me, "Why didn't we have a videographer?!?!" We did have some OH-SO-AMAZING Photographers though (Kara Kamienski and Matthew Steed Wilson). You guys ROCK!

Our new adventure now is with our 5 year old BEAST, Harrison, with a 2 year old girl, Grace, and our walking and jabbering machine, Claire. Kim did an amazing job carrying them, and am more impressed by her mommy skills daily with our 3 kiddos and 3 fur babies. It gets pretty hectic in the house and I'd have it no other way.  We are now back in her hometown of Fairbury in our first home and have come to realize we are not handy, but are learning. We are so thrilled to be close to the kiddos little cousins for them to grow up and play together.

I love having a cinematic adventure (watch a movie on the BIG screen) and am a huge superhero fan. Getting together with family is a must, and there is always food involved which I'm never mad about. YUM! Kim is quite the baker, she teases that she is just going to open up a bakery, but is afraid we will eat all the products, hehehe : ) From board games with weird rules to volleyball or tennis, I love most if not all competition sports/games. I rarely let my wife win at many games, but especially never at 10's and 2's (ask, and I'll explain the game). I don't know what it is, but I can beat her 9 out of 10 times for sure. She would hit me if I ever let her win anyway. We are very competitive at everything with each other, so it makes for interesting game nights. My new favorite hobby is hanging with the family, maybe wrestling with the kiddos and reading them books with the library being a weekly thing for us, and just going on little adventures with our boogers, letting them explore and see the world.
